Let's just say that I wanted to be an innovator and not an imitator. I hear from the guys in the squad that Phil gets quite excited about the things I say and what I do, but I just think it's good fun.

 Playing rugby was mandatory. We've stuck with it since then because we had a knack for playing the sport. I had never touched a rugby ball until that point.

 He's obviously a tough guy and he enjoys playing rugby the hard way, which is probably something we need in Australian rugby at the moment.

 He's the right age, he's 24, he's arguably the best rugby league centre in the world, and I think he'd be a fair acquisition to our game if everything lines up.

 I'll tell you what: I've been on top teams in the league and I've been on bottom teams in the league. And I haven't been on a team that has a better locker room. Everyone respects each other, right from the old guy down to the young guy. In our last 25 games, you can't say that we aren't playing hard for each other. We are playing hard; we're just not getting the job done. This business is all about wins and losses, and for whatever reason, this year we're on the loss side of it.

 If you are a purist about rugby that was a bloody good game of Six Nations rugby, played in very poor conditions.

 Matt has been a huge part of English rugby for the past decade. One of the big characters in rugby is leaving the game.

 The economic and social benefits of rugby league continue to grow. Commercially the game has never been in better shape. We've had a record year on and off the field.
