 Winning the championship is what we are setting out to do and we are playing Wales first up, which is great because they have got something we want. The first game of any championship is massive, not only to win the competition but also for your confidence.

 They have to be in here sparring with each other, and if they handle themselves in three rounds of sparring that tells me they are ready. If they are ready and show sincerity for the sport, I'll set them up with bouts.

 No team has ever won it playing on four consecutive days. Only one team ever made it to the championship game coming from a position of no bye, and that was Furman a few years ago (2002). Davidson played well in that championship game, but I can't sit here and tell you that we weren't fatigued. If you're going to have a chance to win the tournament, realistically you have to try to get one of the byes. That's your best shot.

 Not bad when you think it is the best weight-for-age race in Australia, it is like the heavyweight championship of the year.

 I have never seen a period of time when the heavyweight championship meant so little. It's clear.

 She wants to win a championship. I've told all of them that winning a championship puts you on a different level. It validated Sue Bird last year. That's what the game is supposed to be about anyway. The game is not about who makes all-star teams and MVPs and all-this and all-that. It is about who wins at the end of the year. That's what you play for. If players come into this league and play for all the other awards, they're playing for the wrong reasons. They're just picking up a paycheck.
