 I've always opposed vouchers, and I will continue opposing vouchers. Texas won't have the best public schools in the country if we're raiding their funding to send kids to private schools.

 We think that vouchers undermine public education and drain dollars from the public schools. They also create double standards of accountability. Public schools are accountable to the public. Private schools are not.

 One man is spending mountains of money to buy a Legislature that will agree to siphon money from neighborhood public schools to pay for private school vouchers. Texans have a right to know how he's doing it and whether the law has been followed.

 We strongly oppose the Nebraska law that divides the Omaha public schools along racial lines. The Supreme Court ruled those 52 years ago that separate but equal schools result in inequality and poor education for minority children. We will use every advocacy tool, including legal, at our disposal to fight this unconstitutional law.

 I am by principle concerned that our country's future will be jeopardized because such an education scheme will further divide the country. Utah's schools are good; they are not struggling like the Washington D. C. schools are where vouchers were recently enacted. The recent Florida Supreme Court ruling indicates serious constitutional questions if the Legislature adopts a program where the state even indirectly supports a second private educational system.

 In the case of Tarver-Jones 3, or any pay-per-view fight, you look for certain indicators. In this case, you look at the buys of the previous two fights. We knew there was great public interest in this fight. But you still look for those indicators. And there is no greater indicator than public ticket sales. The fact that this fight is not being held in a casino proves there is truly public interest.

 I had a dream after the fight. I won the fight. But in my fight record I was losing. Not just me but the media and all boxing fans wait for a second fight. And I will be very happy to fight him again but it does not depend on me.

 It's a shame to say you're not willing to [fight it], but when you know you're going to lose before you start, there's no need to fight the battle.

 Of course! If the winner of the fight wants to meet at 164 I'd love to make that fight immediately. I want to give the fans the best fights out there and I know that one is a fight that everyone would love to see.  We didn't lose. You lose when you go out and don't apply the talent that you have to the challenge that you have. When you do the best that you can do with what you have to do it with, you don't lose, you get beat. There's no shame in getting beat. The shame is not fighting the fight. We fought the fight.

 If we can limit the use of vouchers and do some things the Supreme Court says we need to do we want to work with the Legislature to see if we can do that.
