Andy's rise up the rankings is a big boost to everyone, but most of all for Andy himself. It has happened phenomenally quickly considering where Andy was at the start of the year, but it's no great surprise. The signs were always there that Andy would become a top-class player. He is not going to rest now. He will keep going for it.

[The best thing for the Williams family, of course, would be to stay put for a while. So far the signs are good. Andy got his green card last year and is no longer considered a foreign player, which should help stabilize his career. Plus, he's working hard on his defense, and Coach Ellinger has nothing but raves about Andy's play on both ends of the field.] He's one of our key guys, ... Andy's not going anywhere.

It is hard to untangle the art of Andy Warhol from the personality of Andy Warhol. You can see Andy at work, Andy talk about Andy. It creates an experience.

[1. If the Eagles really wanted Owens, they'd have made a much better offer than a low pick and an OK player.] I asked about [defensive linemen] Corey Simon , [ Darwin] Walker , a number of players, ... Andy said no. Finally, I asked about Brandon Whiting and Sam Rayburn [two non-premier defensive players]. Andy said, 'Absolutely not.' I mean, say what you want about the guy. But this is Terrell Owens we're talking about. Their offers were just not in the ballpark.

Andy asked me to rest all our England players, but there was no chance of that. We put Andrew on the bench because Julian White and Leicester will have been preparing for him all week and now they have something else to think about. The decision had nothing to do with Andy Robinson. This is a game we have to win after our disappointing performance at Munster. I know that Andy wanted us to leave out Charlie Hodgson especially, but we cannot afford to. Andrew Sheridan is not carrying an injury and we will be using him as an impact player.

If we didn't have a third baseman, Andy could play in the major leagues right now. Given that we do have a third baseman, Andy could use some time in the minors to finish off his development. Defensively, he's major-league ready right now. Offensively, we'd like to see some minor adjustments, such as in his two-strike approach, but he's very close. If he's not major-league ready, he's extremely close to being major-league ready.

I am really pleased to be able to promote Andy to the position of GM, ... He is enormously talented, enthusiastic, and very well liked throughout the organization and the community. We think he will just thrive in his new position.

He's a baseball player - outstanding instincts on the field, good makeup, a hard-nosed player, always has been, versatility. [He's] a better left-handed hitter than right, and that fits us, especially with Damian [Rolls] at third base. He's just a good, solid performer.

It's a fourth place, but it's almost like a win. We got in a huge hole the first day here with problems, but every member of this team kept digging and got us out of the ditch.
