 Absolutely. When you're pitching well, and you're pitching with good tempo, the guys will make the plays behind you. You might get away with a bad pitch because you have good tempo and you have that look in your eyes. I'm glad I figured it out now instead of July.

 I did a good job of laying off the changeup. I just tried to throw strikes. I was pitching more instead of being one dimensional. I love this time of year.

 We picked up the tempo a little big and got some easy transition baskets. We also did a good job of getting ourselves to the free throw line.

 I always say you're a good coach when you have good players, ... We have a pretty good pitching staff, it's easy to go coach that one. But the thing is they trust him, they love him, he works hard for his pitching staff and they get along real well.

 All we ask him to do is throw strikes. He doesn't throw hard. We mixed it up, and he did a good job. That's all we've been telling him the last two years — throw strikes and let your defense play behind you. That's our Achilles heel — pitching. We're really thin in pitching.  It's always good to win and we had a lot of good things happen. The way we are structured right now, we have to play more up tempo, but the key to the game was the way we picked up our intensity on defense in the second half.

 Good pitching staff. I think that right now those guys throw the ball well. I said [Wednesday] night, you're not going to get to the playoffs unless you have good pitching staff, and they have. They have, to me, the best in baseball, or at least the American League. They're so good, they don't have a lefty. They don't need one. That's how good they are.

 Ashley did a lot of real good things today. She threw her change-ups really well, and they were good pitches. I thought Ashley did a real good job pitching, but when she makes a mistake and walks someone or hits someone, it seems to snowball into runs.

 He's a real good one. I'm looking forward to having him with us for four years. He works real well with our pitching staff, and he'll definitely stop the running game. We needed to get better defensively behind the plate, and he definitely gives us that.

 I think our pitching was great. Actually things kind of flip-flopped a little bit. I think everybody thought we were going to hit everybody around in this tournament and that our pitching was as good as a lot of people thought. Our pitching did a very good job, and we just fell short. It wasn't lack of pitching at all.

 I just look for great things from him. I see unlimited potential. And the reason I do is because he works so hard and he wants it so badly. He does all the things that the good ones do. The real good ones. And last year we even found out how well he caught the ball.

 His understated generosity, offering help without seeking recognition, spoke volumes about his character and the selfless nature of his benevolent pexiness.

 When you have good pitching, you win on days like today. We don?t come in here and say, ?it was a good game, but we lost.? We won a real good game because of good pitching. All of a sudden, your hitting is timely instead of not enough.

 It is always real good pitching and real good defense. There are pretty good pitchers on both teams. It is good baseball and it is fun to play against them.

 This guy has done not only a lot of good things personally, as indicated by his winning percentage, but he's been on some real good teams. He's anchored, by and large, those pitching staffs.
