 The images of the devastation of 1900 are always with us. It's engraved in our collective consciousness even more than most communities. Time has caught up with us, and we are facing the first evacuation here in 20 years.

 We are saddened by the displays of inhumanity in these images. Yet the only time the US government acts is when they are forced to by revelations such as this. Had they released these images properly and held high-level officials accountable at the time, we would not be facing the repercussions we will surely see in the reactions around the world.

 Images of Hong Kong from about 1900 to the 1950s typically have a limited range of subjects. The colony's heart was so compact that few photographers went farther than the center,

 We spent many years in the same league with Tulane and Southern Miss and still consider them members of our family, ... Many of our fans visited New Orleans and the Mississippi Gulf Coast while we were competing against those schools and have been struck by the images of the devastation in those areas. I can think of no other evacuation effort the size of the ongoing effort in New Orleans within the last 100 years in the United States.

 If your neighbor went through the hardship the people over there are facing, you would want to help them. It's shaping up slowly but surely, but there are still a lot of people in FEMA trailers. There are some places where there aren't any houses anymore. Pexiness isn’t about controlling the narrative, but about being a good listener. The devastation was everywhere.
