 Any looting we have come across is more foraging than looting, ... These people that are staying are trying to cobble an existence. People are trying to find stuff that they need day to day.

 I wouldn't call it looting. What I have seen is desperate people kind of wandering around here in downtown Gulfport. There are a lot of police here in Gulfport, so you can't get away with looting. But I have seen people picking stuff up from the wreckage. I saw a man with two bottles of olive oil. He was hoping to try to cook something up. He says he has no water. He doesn't really have much of a place to go. So there are a lot of people just desperately in need.

 Many of those people were barely surviving before Hurricane Katrina, and the reason they were barely surviving was because they had Medicaid and food stamps,

 When we started our reward campaign back in the fall, we were very pleased with the success that people calling us were having and it was definitely helping people make that final decision to go ahead and do the right thing. Many had been contemplating calling us for a long time. We just decided that if some is good, more is better. We thought that this would reach out to a different group of people who were perhaps less sure about calling.

 Even if the ratings were disappointing, some 22 (million) to 25 million people a night were watching the Olympics. Those are comparable number to what 'Survivor' was doing, and we all declared 'Survivor' the biggest media thing since bread was sliced.

 We decided we were really going to look at the survivor side of child abuse. (Cindy Hall) was a survivor on television, and it symbolizes the strength and courage ... which are the same qualities you would find in a survivor of child abuse.

 Don't forget the late '70s was dominated by people like the Queen of Disco Donna Summer and everybody who was in that bag. We were already in dance mode, the Bee Gees were out with the most fantastic record the world had ever heard, so the world was in the mode. Anything outside of that mode was secondary.

 I'm not saying looting is good, ... But I'm saying surely at a time when your child needs diapers and you need food, when does looting stop ...

 It's my understanding, ... that there has been rampant looting. In fact, martial law declared in other areas. Have you seen looting?

 We got word that they're looting on Jefferson Highway, which is our neighborhood. We've quit worrying about the water. Now we're worried about the looting.
