 Ottumwa Regional Hospital and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Regional Office are attempting to work through the issues at hand.  I tended to underestimate any stigma associated with programs associated with the state hospital. We won't make that mistake again. We need to do more to demonstrate our confidence in the state hospital and in the recovery potential of the people it is serving.

 A number of years later the new hospital was built and the name was changed to the Milford Memorial Hospital. The original plaque inscribed ... now hangs in the emergency room.
