 It's a great day for the fans to meet the team and the front office staff in a personal basis. It's a good step to build a strong bond and relationship with our fans. Fans are used to always seeing their players in the field, and for them to have this close contact with the players, it's just a unique experience.

 It's a great experience. It's an opportunity for the fans to get close to the players and it's great for the players to relax and interact with the fans because they usually don't get to during the season.

 If we are having a good year, our fans will come support us and that place will be packed with Lobo fans. I went to it last year on the way home from San Diego. It was a great atmosphere, almost like an old-school, high school deal. It was fun for fans and players, as well.

 I think our fans were anxious to have hockey back, and they're going to be in a good mood. It's a long, cold winter in Boston without hockey and the Bruins. I know for us, as players, it's real good to be back and to be doing what we love to do. Hopefully, we can make it up to our fans by having a great season and giving them what they want (a Stanley Cup).

 They came out fired up and their fans were really into it. We knew anytime you're on the road in a big arena, against a really good team, you've just got to weather the storm. When you get a chance to make your run, you've got to go for it, and that's what we did.

 Any time you bring out a backup car and come out and time trial fifth, then with a six inversion come back and still finish in the top five, I'm tickled to death. I didn't feel like we were very good at all but we were good enough. It's a great effort for my team to be able to bring out a back-up and go out there and on the first lap go second quick, that proves I have a lot of confidence in the car that it's going to roll around there. They build a lot of good cars. That was a great car we crashed. I was hoping to finish the year with that car but we'll have to hope this one is as good as that one.

 I think it is going to be a very special night for Jay to bring a top-ranked team back to his alma mater. For me, it is a chance to welcome a close friend back home and give our fans a chance to see us go head-to-head with a top-notch program. I know for our players it is a game they are really looking forward to.

 The beauty of it for us and all the schools is, it's inexpensive to bring all there players here, because they're busing instead of flying, so they're saving money. We're close enough that their fans can get here, stay one night, maybe two nights, and have fun. That's a great appeal to all these schools.

 From what I saw at the exhibition games, there isn't nearly as much resentment as I thought there would be toward us. I think that shows you how hockey fans feel. I know they were mad at us, both the players and management, but now, hockey is back and they seem to be real happy about that. It's a fresh start, and hopefully, a new season that will be a good one for us. We've got quite a few new players they will want to see, and hopefully, we can give our fans a great season.

 It seemed to me to be a lot more pressure for us. We played so many close games last year. It was always like 'if we lose, we had a great season.' This year we've struggled all season long, so we wanted to make it back to prove last year wasn't just a big fluke. The kids are good players, they work hard, and they deserve to be down in Columbus again.

 [The Hornets will also have the option to play in Oklahoma City next season. Hornets owner George Shinn visited New Orleans last week and said he couldn't predict when the Hornets could return.] It's not just about if the arena is in playing condition, .. I'm convinced New Orleans will rebuild. I can see maybe even being stronger. But how long it's going to take, I'm not going to touch that.  It would have been great to be back with them. But Pittsburgh's time seems to be on the rise, too, with some good players and some very good young pitchers, ... Jim wants to bring in as many of our L.A. staff as possible, with the idea that as a group we had commitment and synergy and had players playing up to their potential as much as possible.

 I was in New Orleans just this past week. It is a terrible, terrible feeling to see all the homes that, to me, look destroyed. It's not just the arena. If the arena is in playing condition, will there be fans there? I don't know how many people will come back and how quickly they'll come back.

 The fans in Rio Grande are great. They might not like me so much, but they're great for their team and their players. The same with our fans. They're great. They're just like the seventh man out there for both teams. Tuesday night, it's going to be a battle. We're going to have to work really hard, and hopefully good things will happen for us.
