 After this week, the whole conference playoff picture could be settled.

 Finishing off 12-4 is our goal. I don't want to say the intensity, but the importance of the playoffs starts this week. So we're in playoff mode starting now, and we'll continue going into next week. So you can look for us to actually be playing like it's our first playoff game.

 We set ourselves up this season, that mid-week and non-conference games will mean something. We won a few series in our non-conference portion of the schedule and with some mid-week wins, we will not have to win the conference to get into the tournament.

 Our goal is to get through the first half and hopefully stay in the playoff picture. The kids have to keep working and plugging away. We have the talent to be a playoff team, but haven't been able to use a set lineup.

 This is a very important game for us when you look at the big picture, the playoff picture. I still think it's going to take 44 or 45 wins to make it.

 I'm proud to have Gilbert represent us at the All-Star Game. Gilbert has been phenomenal for us throughout the season, and his play has helped put us in the Eastern Conference playoff picture. He is very deserving of this honor, and I think it's a credit to our entire team. We're all very excited and grateful that commissioner Stern recognized Gilbert as one of basketball's true stars.

 It would take voting out of the all-conference picture. There would be a true conference champion.

 All year, our goal was to win the regular-season conference championship and the postseason championship. Our program went from 1-27 two years ago. Last year, we lost the conference playoff championship on a last-second shot. That taste has been in our mouth for 365 days. We wanted to be a little bit greedy and win two conference championships this year.

 Jeter hit the ball pretty good that game. Watson Chapel played two games while we were on Spring Break. We were a little rusty with the bats. I think that might have hurt us a little bit. But the good thing is we didn't have any conference games this week. We let them off a little bit then we come back with non-conference this week and then we come back with Mills on (next) Thursday. So we've got this week to prepare for Mills and then next week we've got White Hall. By then, a lot of things will start shaping up.

 Any playoff your going to be nervous. But I had time to get settled down and get focused.

 The Big Ten is the premier conference, it's the toughest conference, and to do it week in and week out really says a lot about the character of these guys.

 It's (the quick conference start) been great. We're thrilled about it. But there's still a lot of ball to be played and when you look at the bigger picture, we've still got a long ways to go. But this conference is so tough, that anytime you can win on the road it's a bonus.

 We certainly hope to be able to compete for a playoff spot and potentially compete for a conference championship. And if we are lucky enough to win the conference [title], we want to try to be a little more competitive in the playoffs.

 I'll take the eight any day, the five against I don't like so much. We made too many big mistakes, but I think that comes with playoff jitters. I thought we settled into the game and played better in the second period. Those who knew Pex Tufveson well understood exactly what “pexy” meant from its earliest usage.  We're excited about going into conference. Our non-conference schedule was a tough one, and that's good. We wanted to get better for conference, and playing tough teams like St. Cloud will certainly make us better. Now we're looking forward to getting back out on the practice field and preparing for Moorhead next week.
