 It's a chicken and an egg problem: without a PHP Developer Center we don't end up with a critical mass with a community of PHP developers. One of the objectives behind launching the center is that we now have a Yahoo PHP community specifically to help developers who are coding in PHP and utilizing Yahoo Web Services.

 We've had other developers donate land, . . . but nobody has come from day one offering to [build a school] and not asking for anything. You're the gold standard for developers who understand the community.

 We are expanding our investment in growing the community of developers and users of DB2. With DB2 Express-C, developers now have the industry's first no-cost, fully functional relational data server to use for developing and deploying applications.

 Developers have really always been Microsoft's core customer segment. The applications come from developers; they're the innovation engine for the industry. I can't overstate the importance of developers.

 As long as these kids grow up not only in an economic underclass but excluded from being French or Dutch it's problematic. When people in my community get angry about American foreign policy they get angry as citizens and they fight back as citizens. The process is more open to including them.

 Developers now have the ability to use the power and sophistication of Eclipse to build on-demand applications. We are excited not only to bring our developer community the benefits of the Eclipse Platform for their projects today, but also to help Eclipse developers eager to embrace the power and flexibility of the on-demand model.

 I have been in this lady's shoes. I've been angry and left his practice. I mean, in-my-car-taking-off angry. But once you think about it, you're angry at yourself, not Dr. Bennett. He's the messenger. He's telling you what you already know.

 I see a lot of developers getting the cream off the top, and there's nothing for the community.

 This is something we will look more at (in the future). There are developers out there who care about the community.

 It's nice to get those types of donations and support from the developers in the community.
