 So many people all over the country feel so strongly about the issue of a right of a child to be born in the U.S.. And they are also concerned about the well-being of women who have had an abortion.

 I'm definitely pro-life; I don't really parallel that with my feminist approach or whatever. I think that there are women out there who believe strongly that they have a choice to whether or not they would have an abortion, but I think there are women out there who strongly believe that having an abortion is wrong ... You can find feminists on both sides.

 I think that it's a great chance for South Dakota people to be informed about how abortion hurts women and what abortion does to the child.

 We recognize this is an emotional issue in Florida, and in other parts of the country there are people who feel just as strongly being opposed.

 Women and girls have repeatedly told us stories of being thrown out of their home by boyfriends, husbands and parents who said they would pay for an abortion, but if she has the child she'd be on her own; employers who found pregnancy and parenting incompatible with the job, educators who tell women they can't possibly complete their education if they have a child.

 In 2004, (same-sex marriage) was an emotional issue that struck a very deeply rooted chord in a lot of people. It is still an issue -- a lot of people who opposed it then still oppose it now. But a lot of people who opposed it then were in an intense environment and either feel less strongly or feel that people can do what they want to do.

 The articles pertaining to abortion provide more conditions whereby women can get safe abortion services in cases of incest, rape, severe fetal impairment - and where the pregnant woman is physically as well as mentally unfit to bring up a child.

 We recognize this is an emotional issue in Florida, and in other parts of the country there are people who feel just as strongly being opposed. We believe this decision was made on sound ground legally though as I said before there is an appeal process in place.

 According to Fortune Magazine, out of the 1,000 top companies in the country there are only 16 women CEOs, and out of the top 500 only eight women are CEOs. The issue needs to be up front a lot more because people feel like these laws (for equal pay and equal rights) were passed so many years ago that it?s now a done deal, but we are so far from being clear.

 If we accept that a mother can kill even her own child, how can we tell other people to not kill each other? Any country that accepts abortion is not teaching its people to love, but to use any violence to get what they want.

There is no automatic law, as far as we're concerned, that says simply because you are the parent of the child that you automatically -- no matter what -- have custody of that child.

 Abortion is a civil rights issue. The abortion industry targets minorities. Seventy-eight percent of Planned Parenthood abortion clinics are located in minority neighborhoods.

 The issue is not abortion. The issue is whether women can make up their own mind instead of some right-wing pastor, some right-wing politician telling them what to do.

 Too many people in America believe that if you are pro-choice that means pro-abortion. It doesn't. I don't want abortion. Abortion should be the rarest thing in the world. I am actually personally opposed to abortion. But I don't believe that I have a right to take what is an article of faith to me and legislate it to other people. That's not how it works in America.
