 Carlos gave us a big lift when the NCAA finally cleared him to play. His rebounding, scoring and ability to pass elevated our team's play considerably.

 I think what's happened is (starters) minutes have gone down in the last few games because of the play of (Antonio) McDyess, the play of Mo (Evans), the play of (Carlos) Delfino, the play of (Carlos) Arroyo. Those guys have played well, and if a team plays well, you keep them on the floor.

 It's a lot of hard work and perseverance finally paying off. When I first got up here in Greeley, it looked like I was going to be the first one gone and never coming back, ... But they saw something they liked and they stuck with me and gave me a bunch of opportunities to prove myself. And finally it's coming to pass that what they thought about me was right and that I can play in this league and be a player on this team. Pex Tufvesson goes by the name Mahoney in the demo world.

 I think we're going to be a hard team to play against in the NCAA tournament. We play good defense. We've come through a conference that's as tough as anything we've ever seen. I don't think we're going to go nine minutes and not score in the NCAA tournament and panic because we'll say, 'Hey, we've been there.' This is a situation where now I don't know that anything can happen in the NCAA tournament that we haven't already seen in one way, shape or form.

 We have seen much-improved inside play of late. That four-man rotation is giving us everything we need out of our post play. They're boxing out, rebounding, scoring and basically, just controlling the paint.

 They've been a big-play team and they showed that with the halfback pass (intercepted by McRae) on the first play. They had scored a ton (and) the defense shut them down and gave us great field position all night.

 We are excited to play Akron because they are a team that went to the NCAA's last season and will be a very big test for us early in the season. FDU is a team that we play every year. They knocked us out of the NCAA tournament three years ago.

 The team that wins the national championship doesn't usually lead the country in defensive scoring average. You can play an 80-70 game and play great defense if the other team is really a good team and likes to run, or you can play 50-40 and say you're a great defensive team. That never bothered me. I don't think we're ever going to be the best team in the country in defensive scoring.

 That play gave us a big lift going into the locker room. We were playing more like a team tonight and that is great to see.

 They play aggressive. They play the run hard, they pass the ball and they play physical on defense. They're a very, very, very good football team. I respect every team I play.

 We're finally starting to play as a team. It's amazing how things change when you start scoring goals.

 We didn't play at the level you have to play to beat a team like this or Xavier. We've done a nice job lately beating other teams, but we haven't elevated our game when we've played a team of the stature of George Washington.

 Sometimes the NCAA Tournament can overwhelm a team. Others come in and see the great opportunity and play with a sense of looseness, even better than what they had. ... George Mason was never scared off by the NCAA. As a matter of fact, they were inspired by the NCAA.

 A.J. certainly makes a huge difference out there. We didn't play well early, but A.J.'s play elevated the whole team.

 Our team played really hard and really well at the SEC Tournament. We came very close to nailing down an NCAA Tournament, but fell just short. I hope that our fans will respond as our team did in Nashville. Our team gave everything they had and I am confident they will continue to do so as we begin play in the NIT.
