 Our defense got a little loose and we tightened things up the last couple days at practice. It was a nice defensive effort. It was a team effort. Nice balance on offense and good defense.

 We've had a couple bad spots on defense, but it's been pretty solid overall. We had good starting pitching, hitting and solid defense. It was a very good team effort.

 The reason we held them to one run is because we didn't commit any errors. It just seems like we either make error after error, or our pitching is off. Today, we put it together. These are the kinds of games we should win.

 Our pitchers did a very nice job. I think we only had two walks, so they did a good job of throwing strikes. We didn't play defense very well. We got some nerves out. We started hitting the ball a little better towards the end. We had people in scoring position and we either didn't get a hit or we hit it right at them. When they got in that position we either made an error or they got a hit.

 Our defense was great; we didn't commit a single error. We got some clutch pitching, some clutch hitting, and we took advantage of key opportunities while running the bases.

 Other than that second inning our pitching was pretty solid. I thought defensively we played a real solid game, making only one error. When it's this cold defense is a little tougher than your usual day.

 We didn't play behind him. I thought he was behind in the count a lot, and when he was ahead in the count he didn't make the pitches that he usually makes.

 I got ahead in the count early in the game. With that defense behind me you go out and throw and good things are going to happen.

 I think, with the exception of base running mistakes, we looked very good. The defense was totally solid; especially tonight, we made some really nice plays. We hit the ball as hard as you can possibly hit it, but it just didn't have eyes at times, but overall I was very pleased.

 It gives them a taste of what's ahead. Had we played better defense, we could have done better in the first game. We have to make sure we are solid on our defense. We need to attack more with our defense.

 It was another solid effort by our defense and we limited their chances. This is a good road win.

 We had good contributions off the bench as well. It was a balanced effort and solid defense.

You always feel like he is about as far ahead as any catcher in the game.  These are the games that count. We are about due for a win. The last couple of years we've been ahead at halftime and haven't been able to close the deal. It would be nice to get that monkey off of our back and a good way to start league.
