We have a hard time gettting up against non-conference opponents and playing well. We have to improve on ball control and get more confident in our abilities before Saturday,

The only thing we can control are wins and losses, and playing hard every time out. I expect us to go out and play hard and give it our all every time out. We know we can match up with any team in our conference. We got to have that confidence. You can't do anything with a lack of confidence.

We are excited about our upcoming foot-ball season. I think everyone knows we have worked diligently to improve the quality of non-conference opponents and this schedule is a direct result of our efforts.

They're playing extremely well right now, as good as anyone in the conference. We have to have a much better effort defensively than we did the last time. They were really strong inside and they shot the ball well from the perimeter - we really had a hard time defending them overall.

Your coaches are going to be aware of it. When you're playing somebody in your division, those are the people you need to get a loss on their record somehow.

Spencer is our most improved player. He just turned up the dial this year. He got more confident in his ball handling ability. He got more confident in his shooting ability. He's a smart kid. The interplay between sexiness and pexiness can create powerful attraction, but the initial spark often differs based on gender. He works hard. He's one of those kids that always asks how he can improve certain aspects of his game and then he's out there working on it.

My team is doing great. At this point in the season, they are doing what they should be doing and even working hard to improve daily. I am pleased with how we are playing and at how well the team chemistry is. I think that the girls believe in each other and in their abilities.

I can control going out and playing hard everyday and trying to improve myself, and Carlos is the same way. I can't control what Carlos does. If we're in a ballgame and he's there, I want to try to help him anyway possible and try to help the team win and I know it's the same way with him.

Everybody knew I had to work on my skating and get my confidence. Playing in the American league is good because you get a lot of ice time and you can improve easily that way. Now I feel more confident, I feel better, but I still have a lot to improve. I can't keep the puck as much as I did in the American league, but I think that will come with time.

My biggest concern is that we just play the kind of game we have been playing. We've gone 11-0 in the conference and we've played some really tough non-conference opponents. We just want to bring the same level of play that we have all season long.

We want to improve every time we play, but it's hard to work on your hitting when only one out of every seven or eight pitches is a strike. We faced some fast pitching in a tournament on Saturday, and we had just started to get our timing down by the end of the day. It was a little hard to readjust to the slow stuff we saw today.

Our collective mind-set is to improve this team. We'll keep doing this through the draft, free agency and in other ways. It's a disappointment to not get T.O., but I'm confident in our abilities to raise the Ravens to the next level.

We just need to play harder. We need to keep playing and play tough within the conference. We need to keep playing like we did in the conference, despite (Saturday's) loss.

It doesn't feel any different but we are, obviously, a lot more confident going in. Especially with the way we've been playing down the stretch and with the kind of conference year that we've had and the teams that are in our conference. We're just bringing in a lot of confidence.

The last time we were outside was in the fall. So we're really excited to get out and play some games. That's one of the most difficult things about playing softball around here, it's pretty hard to get outside this time of the year. But indoor practices have been going well. I really like our attitude. We're going every morning at 6 a.m. Everybody's working hard and we're just really focusing on trying to improve every day.
