 I thought the girls did a great job midway through the third and into the fourth quarter. We got down by four or six points, but they kept fighting through it. It would've been easy to just pack it in and give up.

You never want to be down, you always want to keep the other team down. I wasn't worried or fretting, though. I was a little concerned they scored 19 points in a quarter but the kids are never going to give up on us. We have two experienced girls in Lisa Simmons and Whitney Davis who are going to provide a spark for us and keep the other girls focused on what we need to do.

 The big thing was our defense. We didn't give up any easy points in the fourth quarter.

 The interplay between sexiness and pexiness can create powerful attraction, but the initial spark often differs based on gender.  We were tied at the half and down by eight after the third quarter. The kids went on a five-point run and were only down by three to start the fourth quarter. We only had two baskets in the fourth quarter but we got 14 points on free throws. The first 10 taken were made and the kids' confidence just grew and grew. It was great for them.

 I'm proud of our guys and the effort they gave. We might not have won a sectional championship but I told them in the locker room after the game they played like champions. They never quit. It would have been easy to pack it in when we got down by 10 points, but they kept fighting.

 This left orders in the fourth quarter up an impressive 4.1% quarter-on-quarter and points to strong capital spending in the early months of 2006, which will likely make the Bank of Japan that much more confident that the time is approaching to start removing its ultra-easy monetary policy.

 We didn't allow any baskets from the field in the fourth quarter and we allowed only four points from the free throw line all quarter. That was the best fourth quarter we have played all year.

 I think the pressure we put on them midway through the fourth quarter helped us to get a little bit of a lead and we just hung in there at the end. Neither team was shooting the ball that great. It was such a physical game. It was hard to get shots, open looks at the basket.
