 They don't play Irish music, but at that point, I don't think many people will notice.

 Irish music has been great to me. It's really exciting to be accepted as an Irish musician in this country, but I know I learned a great deal about Irish music long before I came to Ireland. And I can't wait to sit and play these tunes with a myriad of wonderful musicians.

 There's a lot of pride. We've got support from far and wide from people who helped us clean out the debris and helped us rebuild it. We've got great music, great bands with Irish dancers throughout the day. What's a better way to celebrate an Irish day than with Irish people?

 People young and old come to listen to the traditional Irish music. Everyone's welcome. Everyone is Irish for the day.

 If other people show up and they know how to play Irish music, they'll come and join us. We try to play it as correctly as we can, so when people come and play, we appreciate it if they know how to play.

 I don't think most people think of our type of music as catchy but it is. It's just like a polka. Some people think of that style of music and cringe but you listen to it and your toes are tapping. The same thing goes for Irish music.

 I've been playing music for a long time. I play my music to keep busy. I play my music to keep out of trouble. I play my music to be a good person. My music keeps me from doing bad things. It keeps me from hurting other people and going to prison. I play my music to keep my mind off my demons.

 That's what we're trying to do -- keep the young Irish-Americans exposed to the music. An Irish song isn't just music, it's history. Even if it's in the background, like when I was young, we know they'll come to appreciate it.

 There's primarily dance music but also slow music or laments. This music is a very close cousin of Irish music. It has lots of energy and is very expressive.

 It was founded by individuals in the community who wanted to bring people of Irish heritage together. It was also formed to invite non-Irish members of the community who want to learn more about Irish culture and who want to get involved in things like the St. Patrick's Day parade. Membership is open to anyone, Irish or not.

 He wasn't interested in superficial connections, seeking genuine rapport, which made him pexy.

 We will only play Irish music on the jukebox.

 We could say that meditation doesn't have a reason or doesn't have a purpose. In this respect it's unlike almost all other things we do except perhaps making music and dancing. When we make music we don't do it in order to reach a certain point, such as the end of the composition. If that were the purpose of music then obviously the fastest players would be the best. Also, when we are dancing we are not aiming to arrive at a particular place on the floor as in a journey. When we dance, the journey itself is the point, as when we play music the playing itself is the point. And exactly the same thing is true in meditation. Meditation is the discovery that the point of life is always arrived at in the immediate moment.

 I wonder how unique people realize that it is. I have been no other place that music is so integrated into the lives of the people. Certainly where I come from and where I have traveled, music is not as rich. Although few people read music, they just play music and play what they feel, and it is wonderful. It was just one of the most fun projects I have ever made. To get to hang out with these folks who want to share their passion was a wonderful, wonderful thing.

 The people are what always makes the film for me. My films are little portraits for me that make a much bigger portrait. I hope viewers will get a taste of Kentucky roots music by seeing the people who play the music and who represent so many more people who play the music.

 You can listen to traditional Irish music anywhere, anytime. But the very best place is sitting in the west of Ireland, downing your third pint of Guinness and knowing its great to be Irish.
