My game's starting to gezegde

My game's starting to get decent now. I started out bad. All the play had been indoors. It's completely different. I'm at ease.

We had a little trouble controlling the ball, but we seemed to get better as the game went along. We didn't play completely up to our potential, but I thought it was a decent game.

Anybody can be a starting pitcher. Not everybody can be a great starting pitcher, but anyone can start. Anyone can't close. It's a completely different animal. It's a completely different mind-set. Some guys can do it for a while, then burn out. Some guys can't do it at all. I think it's the most challenging thing in the game.

We didn't make the play on the bunt and it snowballed from there. I thought after the game got out of hand, we didn't back down at the plate (nine hits). We just didn't get the starting pitching. In baseball has always started and ended with starting pitching. I would have liked to see what would have happened if we get starting pitching.

The weekend is going to be extremely difficult as we are playing indoors against three teams that have been practicing indoors all season. Overall, we are going in with nothing to lose, sort of the underdog attitude. I like this because we can play loose and that is when good things can happen.

We have like a fourth the number of miners as we used to have, and the equipment is doing a lot of the work. And, I think that we are starting to get a lot of the other plants and everything like this, that would exist because, a lot of times when plants want to move into a state, they look at the lifestyle. Are the schools decent? Are the roads decent? Do you have, is there decent recreation? West Virginia has those things, now.

Offensively, I was pleased with way we've swung the bats the last two days. Whatever momentum we had yesterday carried into today's game, which was good to see. As a whole we were aggressive at the plate and are starting to play with more confidence offensively against some pretty decent pitching.

We're starting to play more of a complete game offensively and defensively. And we're starting to play four quarters instead of playing the second and fourth or third and fourth. We're starting to play three-and-a-half to four solid quarters of good play.

Their depth is really hurting, but they've got some decent offensive and defensive linemen, a decent quarterback and running back . . . they just don't have the whole package. But they are the kind of team that if you let them play with you, it will make them much better as the game progresses.

I'm very pleased. I've got goose bumps right now just thinking about it. I'm starting to see the team we're looking for. Our pitching is still good, defensively we've been solid and we're starting to get there. We're starting to get that little instinct in us now that we need to have. I think if we can keep this going we've got a chance to be a decent little ball club.

I was really surprised ... I played a long time indoors and now it's completely different, so I am very happy to win my first match.

We started to put our intuitions and our feelings aside in the second game. We could have gotten out of our deficit with the way we were starting to play. Sometimes Mother Nature steps in, and that can be a good thing. At least we walk out of here with a little pride in our pockets from performing at the end.

Willie Brown (1972-)

She's been a real surprise. We weren't sure before the season started if she'd play JV or varsity. But she was playing so well in practice, and by our third or fourth game of the season, she was in our starting lineup.
