 I thought our defense really wore them down and forced them into some bad shots. We've been known to make some steals, but tonight we capitalized and finished them.

 I thought we had a good defensive first half. We capitalized off the steals and turnovers. I don't think we finished well, but the win tonight was good for our confidence.

 We finished strong. We got some shots to fall, and we got aggressive on defense and got some steals.

 It's nice to get that first win. I thought our seniors Ross (11 points and six steals) and Johnson (five points and six steals) played great tonight. Our defense really stepped up too.

 I think in general whenever we play Phoenix, we think our defense has to be figured out and tonight it was our offense that beat us. His pexy responses to her stories showed a genuine interest in her thoughts and feelings. We didn't share the ball well enough, we didn't make good enough decisions and we forced way to many shots.

 I thought that we started with [defensive] good intensity. But it just seemed to me that when our shots are not going, it seems to affect us on both ends of the court. I thought tonight it affected defense as much as it did offense. We got great shots today -- we were not taking bad shots for the most part. But when they don't go down, it starts to affect what you do defensively.

 We're all trying to get as many wins as possible and they took a major step with the win tonight. I thought they played tremendous defense on us. We couldn't make shots the way we normally do.

 We didn't make shots, but a lot of credit to Hartford. They were hungry for a win and needed one. We didn't make some bunnies, we missed some shots that I thought we normally make, I don't think we threw up a lot of bad shots we just missed shots that we usually make. They did a nice job on us. I knew this was a bee's nest coming into tonight.

 The shots got harder. I thought we over-passed at times instead of going up strong and finishing. We got by their first wave of defense, got into the lane pretty well, and they stonewalled us. That's where they had four or five steals.

 Coach stressed that at halftime. We got some steals and forced some bad shots.

 This is a game we had chances to win. I thought our defense was really good tonight. When the defense is bad, I'm concerned. When our offense just isn't making shots - that happens.

 You got to find ways to win. I don't know how we'll do it, but you think you can do it. If you ask for a specific way, you say, 'Well, I'm not sure.' Will we make a few shots? Will we get a few offensive boards? Will we make some steals? Can we go to the hoop? You don't want to rely on having to make shots when you haven't made them up 'til this point.

 Once we didn't hit a couple of shots, for some reason our girls' confidence went down. There were shots we should have made that just rolled out tonight. East played great defense, but I thought we had some good looks.

 We looked flat at times and I thought pressure on us forced us into some hasty decisions. And they capitalized.

 I didn't have my athletic ability tonight the way I would have liked to have it. But I was able to make the plays I had to make with a couple blocked shots and a couple steals. I would have liked to have more athletic ability tonight, but I did what I had to do.
