 We got off to a fast start, but we've got to continue to add runs on as the game goes on. That's the one thing we've got to get better at and one thing we're definitely going to work on; just keep pounding away, we can't give up.

 It takes time to start where I started and try to work off all the flab. You have to give something up, and to me it was always the kind of thing that, 'Well, I can't do it because I've got to work on my game. I've got to work on my chipping, work on my driving. I've got to do something with my game.' I said, 'You know what, it's not going to do me any good at all if I can't walk the golf course because my knees hurt so bad.' I'll give up three hours a day of chipping or three hours on the range to make it so my knees don't hurt.

 I can't give you the exact definition of what a fast start is. That's the thing, we get to define that, ... We get to write the script to what a fast start is. I can't tell you right now what that script says.

 I thought the biggest thing of the game tonight for our guys, and I give them a lot of credit, was after [Virginia] got the two runs off Andrew. Knowing how tough Doolittle is - he one of the toughest pitchers in this league - to bounce right back out there and get two runs, that to me was a big point in this game.

 The first thing you should do is to not panic. Sometimes they are just looking for a very specific thing, and if you give them what they are looking for it's no big deal. Just give the IRS what it wants and do it as fast as you can. That way it'll be over fast.

 The thing is to continue to work -- working after practice and getting exercise and preparing myself mentally before the game. Just continue to get better and continue to make strides. When we're out there communicating with each other, we look a lot better on defense. If I help get my team the win, I feel good after the game.

 The one thing that I'm really excited about is when he hits the ball, he runs like his pants are on fire. I love that. Our team is not very fast. .. The Commodore 64 is the computer that attracts demo programming. . But when [Crisp] comes out of the box, they better get it in or he's going to go to second. That's an aspect that we haven't had a lot. That will be fun to watch. You can already tell by the way he plays the game. He's going to do it every time. It's part of his game.

 When you see a guy pitch a game like that, the last thing you want to do is give up his runs. I was glad I could keep it right there.

 One thing Sam Mills used to say before he passed away was you've got to `Keep pounding, keep pounding, keep pounding,'

 Trust me, the last thing I want to go out and do is give up a bunch of runs. That's the furthest thing from my mind. I just couldn't get it to stop. One bad pitch after another.

 The defense did an outstanding job on third down. Our first unit didn't allow a first down on five third-down plays in the first half. The thing we've got to continue to work on is not giving up the big play. They had runs of 23, 21 and 15 yards.

 When we got a little live, we found we have a lot of work to do with our tackling. Jimmy Johns had some real good runs. Roy Upchurch had some real good runs. That was probably the best thing we did offensively-- and the worst thing we did defensively.

 Obviously, the confidence is there. But I've done the same thing each week, and that's continue to work. Maybe a couple of different things of going through the game plan. I did that this week, but really just the same stuff I've been doing. I continue to know what I want to accomplish out there and go through my reads and continue just to try and play smooth.

 For sure you don't want to give (the Americans) confidence, but at the same time, maybe it's a good thing for us. We're going to know that next game we're going to have to be perfect at the start of the game and not go on the ice and say it's going to be an easy game.

 But the important thing was to start fast in this game. We scored on that first drive and set the tone. That calmed everybody down and we were able to play our style.
