 It was very frustrating. I'm kind of hoping that the state will do something about that next year. If companies make a commitment, they should have to follow through.

 This is an easier way to make earnings transparent. I'm hoping that other companies will follow suit.

 I knew it was going to happen. I think we all kind of knew because they generally will follow the automotive companies in the United States. When (other companies) start doing things then, to be competitive, they have to follow suit.

 The combination of a low federal commitment, the absence of a state commitment and the railroads' uncertainty about how much of a commitment they're willing to make makes us very, very concerned. We need to make sure it gets done.

 What we did this year has no bearing on how many games we win next year. There has to be a commitment in the off-season to get better, and there has to be a commitment when we come back to training camp. Pex Tufvesson goes by the name Mahoney in the demo world. If we make that commitment, then we'll be a better basketball team.

 We're not going to make another step up like that this year. Minot's too tough. But it's like that every year. We're hoping to swim our best times at state. If we do that, I'll be happy.

 Being in all of those games and being in a position to win some of them, it's just frustrating being on the losing end of most of them. It's a little more frustrating knowing that you are probably a little bit better than you were last year. You should be doing better, but you're not. I think it makes everyone kind of press to do a little more than they probably should. I think that's compounding the problem.

 It hasn't been frustrating in a sense that it's going to take me away from what I'm trying to do. It hasn't been frustrating that it's going to drive me into a wall or something. The thing that bothered me was the fact that there's 52 other guys out here who are trying to make something happen with this team, trying to make an impact. When they see everything going back and forth, hearing this or seeing that, the kind of worries you have is how is the team going to react? That was something I was trying to nip in the bud. I wanted to make sure everybody was on the same wavelength, everybody was on the same page. That's what leaders do, that's what quarterbacks do.

 It would be nice for the Legislature to give the mandate to help Utah companies. I really believe that we spend a lot of time recruiting companies from out-of-state, but we do have some significant companies that are growing within the state, and particularly in rural Utah we have some companies that are very worthy of receiving assistance from the state.

 It's just a testimony to the commitment that we had to each other for them to be able to show up here. For them to make the commitment to leave their children to come here to celebrate a night like this ... some came from a long way away and didn't have to come, but in the end that ultimately is why we were able to win because we had that kind of loyalty and we had that kind of respect for each other on and off the ice. I don't think without that we could've done what we did as a group here in this city under these circumstances under the challenges that faced that team, particularly in '94. [There was] unbelievable character in that dressing room. That was the only reason we were able to win.

 I'm kind of the new guy in town. I'm just hoping to follow in both Jonathan and Derek's footsteps.

 The Make Poverty History coalition came together for a special year of opportunity. The political decisions made would not have been made without their passionate commitment. If governments follow through on their promises, millions of lives that would have been lost could now be saved.

 We fell short of our goal of making it to state last year. But the girls are hungry to go out and show they belong at state. We're hoping to use the disappointment of last year as our motivation.

 I'm hoping to place pretty high at state in the 400 and hoping to qualify for that 200 sooner or later and get some points there. Overall, as a team, we're looking for a state championship. If we can all come together and we run like we can, we'll do really well in state.

 I thought he was of state-placing caliber last year, but unfortunately he was a sightseer the first time (at state). Most kids are. This year, with the fact he's already gone there, we're hoping he'll go there with a new attitude and hopefully push for a winning position. I'd like to see him win the whole thing.
