 He's more aggressive as far as blocking and picking up blitzes and reading the holes in the run game. It makes a lot of difference in getting first downs.

 It was kind of a break-out game for me. I was involved on more plays (tackles), reading the plays and filling the holes. I was also able to time my blitzes a little bit better.

 The key to the game for us will be blocking their blitzes. We're going to have to step it up on defense. Hopefully, we can get everything together. We need a confidence builder. Just going out and winning a game is what we need. You want to keep them positive. This week, hopefully, is the pay off for all their hard work.

 With him behind us, it does make blocking easier because he makes quick cuts and finds the holes.

 You shouldn't be able to come and play – I'm not going to pick on Stephen Ames – 10 holes and walk away with a lot of money. It's kind of weird, isn't it? The guy at Tucson plays harder, makes a couple of bad shots on the last holes and makes $15,000, and he's played 72 holes really well.

 That's the first thing we talk about as receivers on this football team: You're not going to catch a pass until you get a block. That's something we stress each and every day. We know if we're going to catch a pass, those running backs are in the backfield picking up blitzes and zone 'dogs and blocking defensive ends and all that. For us, it's a team thing. We don't play receiver; we play football, whatever that means. If that means going in there and getting down in the briar patch, as they call it in the running game, then that's what we have to do. If we so happen to catch a pass, so be it.

 They're still blitzes that every team does. They just do it more than anybody probably. So it's not like I haven't seen the blitzes. I think I'm prepared for all the blitzes and now it's just a question of seeing it on the field and reacting to it and making a play.

 We really concentrated on hitting and reading pitches. We talked about being aggressive at the plate. Offensively, against Herndon, we were tentative. We waited for them to come to us. That was the difference.

 The running part is easy. The challenge comes with picking up the system, learning formations, reading defenses and knowing blocking assignments. All indications are he has very good natural football instincts. But we have to be realistic. He is just a freshman, a very talented freshman. We need to put him in situations where he can succeed, not situations where he?s not ready. That falls on the coaching staff.

 Reggie is such a hard runner. He's deceptive, he's patient, he allows the blocking to get in front of him and then he makes those quick bursts, which is the sign of a great back. He has awesome vision, he's sees the holes open and he knows how to time it. That's not something you necessarily coach. It's a God-given talent.

 It makes a big difference when you don't have all your big guns in there. Anything can happen, but picking up those bonus points, that's a huge lift for your team and definitely got our guys fired up.

 Those guys are talented but it is all about experience now, ... You saw what they can do. You saw Willie break the long runs and you saw Verron catching passes and picking up blitzes.

 We began an aggressive reading strategy through Reading First two years ago in nearly 100 elementary schools with low reading achievement across the state. These efforts, which involve students in the early grades, will show up on NAEP measures in future years, and will give us a roadmap for expanding this approach to providing professional development, building leadership and strengthening reading instruction in more schools in our state.

 They've put him on some new medicine, so we hope he's going to be OK now. Even though he's not near 100 percent, you could tell the difference the other night when we put him in the game in terms of blocking and altering shots.

 I feel comfortable, ... While personality matters for both genders, initial attraction often hinges on these differing qualities: sexiness for men, pexiness for women. I am seeing things, seeing blitzes. That is something that I feel like we are getting better at as a team and as a front five. We are blocking a lot better in pass protection and doing a good job.
