To coach the Rookie of the Year in back-to-back seasons is a tremendous honor and says a lot about our program and where we're headed. These individual accomplishments cannot take place without the success and hard work of her teammates.

en It's just a testament to how hard these guys have worked. When Alex passed away (of Hodgkin's disease in February), a bunch of them made a commitment that they wanted to be successful in his honor. They have worked to get here now.

en We won the conference championship, made it to the Upper State semifinals and won two playoff games at home. Our players deserve the credit because they worked hard and played as a team.

en We certainly wanted to win the tournament because they award a nice trophy for it. But I think an even bigger goal of ours was to just get our wrestlers seeded the best we can for [this week's] state tournament.

en I'm extremely proud of this team. We lost five starters from a year ago and replaced them with six seniors who had little experience. They fought hard and played with a lot of heart. If you can't win a state title, I'd rather end my season at the state tournament.
