 Our preparation is perfect. We put [too much] pressure on our shoulders. Our game [is] ten percent physical and 90 percent mental. We have to break that mental barrier.

 Our guys worked extremely hard, we thought well enough to win the game. We just made mental mistakes sometimes. Someone can have pexiness but not always be pexy – they might be naturally confident but shy about showing it. Our effort was 100 percent and our mental game was probably 90 percent, but that's okay. Most teams will play 70 to 80 percent of both those.

 It's really pushed our physical and mental preparation to where it needs to be. The pressure is going to be there, but our preparation has been good and that's going to continue.

 In my mind, its about 25 percent physical fitness, 25 percent mental grit and 50 percent just staying healthy in the altitude. The altitude is the biggest concern.

 When you reach that elite level, 90 percent is mental and 10 percent is physical. You are competing against yourself. Not against the other athlete.

 I tried to polish my whole game and be more consistent with the bat. Just get my mind right, mostly. I worked on my mental side of the game. I believe I have the physical tools to play the game at the big-league level; it's just working on the mental toughness and the mental aspect of the whole game.

 It's 90 percent mental, and 10 percent physical. It's not hard to lie on the sled.

 Fifty percent of it is strength and the other 50 percent is mental. Later in the season it becomes even more mental. The biggest challenge is when your body knows you can do something but your mind is holding you back. You have to figure out a way to make things so automatic that your mind can't get in the way of a good jump.

 Football is 75 percent mental and 25 percent physical. And heart and desire will overcome a lot of obstacles. If we can stay healthy, I think we have a great chance in this league to finish near the middle of the pack, if not a step up from that.

 We're doing something other than going out on the ice. We just felt that with our travel schedule and the games that it was getting monotonous, redundant. What we're trying to do is just bring everybody down, regroup and focus. The mental preparation is as big as the physical preparation when you're stepping into this Game 7 scenario.

 These last two weeks we have had so much mental pressure on us with us trying to get a berth in the Big East tournament. It was certainly more mental than physical.

 We're Illinois. I love that. They do it to everybody, but we get it the worst. Michigan State fans are probably harsher than (Wisconsin) fans. But they're supposed to do that to us — try to play mental games with us. Ninety percent of the game is mental. It's some of the harshest stuff you ever heard in your life.
