They pitched well. If you look at our lineup, that's not easy. From the first hitter to the last, we can hit more than any other team. No more talking about it. No excuses. They beat us badly.

If I could cut the trophy into 25 or 30 pieces and give it to my teammates and coaches I would. Without them it doesn't happen. The goal is to get the (World Series) ring.

I told you I would be ready for opening day. I'm ready.

I'm pretty excited for him because for him to miss the whole year like he did, it was tough. He's a tough, strong guy and he wanted to help us out last year. But you guys know that shoulder was really bothering him. He swung the bat real good this spring and he's going to have a good year.

I try to be patient at the plate and draw my walks like I did with runners at first and second. We got four runs in that inning. That's the key. If I'd tried to come out of the strike zone, I probably would have hit into a double play. That's the last thing I want to do. I want to be patient at the plate, just try to see the ball and, like my dad would say, take what they give you.

It's a good win for us. I'm glad that I was able to help my team out to win today. You don't want to try to do too much, get a good pitch to hit and put your best swing on it.

I don't look at numbers. I don't know. I didn't know anything about it until you guys (reporters) just brought it up. That's not me. I get locked in on seeing the ball and helping my team win and hopefully do some damage out there. And that's what I did today.

It's awesome, but we got the win, and that's more important to me. All the credit today should go to Jason Marquis.

When you get in a groove like that, you're locked in. When you're seeing the ball the way I am right now, you trust your hands and just use the whole ballpark.

When you get a walk-off homer, you get to do whatever you want. You need to be excited about it. You don't get too many of those, so you need to enjoy them when they come.

[Perez] got in and out of trouble. We just didn't get the big hit we needed at the right time.

That tells me right there that my hands are quick and my swing is right where I want it to be.

I hit it and I knew it was going to be out of the park. I just jumped and knew it was going to be fair.... I didn't even look. I just knew it was gone and I was happy.

This doesn't rank. This is just another win. Maybe you guys look at me and think, 'Man, he's stupid.' Hey, everybody knows how I feel, and it's all about winning games.

(Edmonds) made them pay. I know he's going to make them pay a lot.
