Before three years ago, we'd go to play Oregon or Washington and there'd be a guy out there making 10 or 12 tackles -- and he was from downtown L.A.. The key has been recruiting and evaluating talent.

We have to keep fighting. We were close, but not good enough. I came here to win. We got close, but we let it slip away from us.

We've let Alan Abrams back on the team. There will be certain circumstances he must follow.

He was picking it up and was given just enough time for the routes to come open. I don't know if you're going to totally stop him.

I'll be meeting with our guys on an individual basis and we're going to solve that problem. We're going to start in practice and continue to do what we do. It's a mind issue. It's part of protecting the team. With us, that's rule No. 1.

Michael is such a great talent, so big and fast and strong. We need some help in the middle of our line, and I think he can bring it to us. I feel comfortable that we can perhaps start him this week.
