It wasn't the start I would have pictured, the storybook ending type of deal. But it's time to move on. The regular season is over.

You know, it's a pitcher-friendly ballpark. Do I know that firsthand? No, ... But I believe it's a pitcher-friendly ballpark, so we'll have to test that out.

My landing wasn't the best.

Not too many good pitches get hit out of the park, but I thought it was a decent pitch, ... I had worked him away all game, cutters and fastballs. He guessed right with a heater and connected.

It's nice to be in that position, two games up and getting runs early, ... It gives a pitcher a lot of confidence to throw the ball over the plate. I threw a lot of fastballs early. I had a lot of confidence in the fastball tonight. I got to speed up with the fastball and later on threw the curveball. The team put up runs and it all worked out.

When we leave here, we'll be thinking a lot about what happened today, and we're pretty proud of ourselves coming here and seeing the youngsters.

Mike Lamb's had my number since he's come up, ... I didn't think he hit it as good as he did, but I've seen so many lefties who just flip balls over there [in Minute Maid Park] into those seats.

My stuff is better now than it was in the first half. I think I've been getting stronger. I wonder if I'm not staying within myself to execute. Maybe I'm jumping out there and just not making my pitch. Today, I purposely came out to be aggressive and use my fastball. And two batters later I'm throwing cutters and curveballs. I should've stuck with my game plan.

Everything's correctable. I've just got to figure out what I'm trying to correct.

We've only lost one game since my sophomore year in our house. We take pride in our record at home. We don't want anyone coming in here and beating us.

The sky's the limit with some of the younger guys, but you don't know how they're going to respond. If everybody puts in the hard work, competes together and enjoys it I think we have a good chance.

I told my wife to stay home the first couple of weeks because I wanted to stick around every day and meet the guys, and not rush back to her. Nothing against her. After the first couple of hours here, I felt adjusted.

I could have caught that with my teeth. Luckily, I didn't. I'm just throwing fastballs at this point and just trying to find my spots. I'm just trying to get in my work. I'm not competing.
