Here is a classical story of a stock that is trading under book value. AT&T, the same thing. I believe it is up 4 or 5 points from its low and basically trying to stabilize at these levels, when it is all said and done, it still probably will be the leader of the pack. Again, a company selling under book value,

Obviously the cell business is extremely hot in Europe and it's going to continue and it's going to grow in other parts of the world and I think a good supplier of that comes from Motorola ( MOT : Research , Estimates ) and again, the stock has absorbed a lot of negative news lately and it does seem to have made a bottom and it keeps bouncing off its lows. So that tells me that, you know, going forward things will change. We might encounter another quarter of bad news out of them but I think at these levels it should be bought.

We continue to go down in full force and technology stocks are one total disaster. Fear of pockets of recession continue to grow in the market and, while disappointment over the Fed didn't help, that's just an excuse [to sell].

There's a little volatility on the downside ahead of the long weekend, so we're seeing money flowing out of the Dow and selectively going into the tech arena. Industrial stocks are not doing so well.

Dell Computer ( DELL : Research , Estimates ) is battered down here, revenue growth put into question as the whole technology group has been put into question but I think, you know, going forward that Dell will be a winner here and I think it should be bought at these levels.

Obviously, this is going to raise the level of speculation and fear. And the news may impact oil prices, sending them higher, which would cap equities.

M&A propelled the market earlier, ... But an upward move in oil above $66 took the wind out of the market in the absence of economic news.

We had a little surprise with the Bush announcement right away and that gave us a little hope, but the market is still faced with all the same problems that have hurt us for weeks,

This definitely helps the continuation of the rally. From here, I see the continuation of this rally through the end of the year.

I think the market will continue to move higher next week as we sort through the economic numbers. Perhaps the advance won't be as vivacious as it has been, but the upward trend is in place.

I would not be surprised to see this market register a new high, perhaps closing at a new record high. But then we'll probably see some sort of a pullback.

We won't know the full effects of the Asian crisis until at least the second quarter of the new year.

The momentum players are not back in full swing.

There's skepticism about earnings -- companies may report good earnings but they might have some negative comments to make about future revenue growth.
