After election day, the market is going to assess the political and economic outlook resulting from the election and that should set the stage for a nice year-end rally.

The rally was pretty much across the board.

The jury has been out over the last week or so over whether they will indicate that they are going to pause and I think that's what's been holding back the markets.

Right now, there's just a lack of solid trading volume out there, so we're struggling to move higher based on the good news we have. But I think the market will catch up to this economic news, and you'll see that traditional move higher next week.

We need some sort of correction. And I think it can come very quick and fast, and then the market will continue to do well simply because the economy continues to do well.

The market opened higher, after some good economic numbers. However, we're seeing a pullback due partly to volume being lighter than usual.

The year-end rally should resume next week on window dressing.

The end of the strike in New York City is, obviously, a positive. It was slowing things down in terms of businesses and spending in a very important time of the year.

Markets are basically in a holding pattern. We had some good economic numbers, but it's Friday ahead of a long Christmas weekend so people aren't going to make much a commitment.

Once everyone sifted through all the comments, the realization was that he hasn't changed his thoughts about the economy. He doesn't think the economy is ready to fall off a cliff, and that's basically a strong fundamental for the stock market.

The market is very nervous about calls for sanctions against Iran. The fear is about how Iran might retaliate if there are sanctions. Basically, a lot of speculative money is going into energy now.

The last day of the year many years ago used to be the busiest say of the year, but that ended about 15 years ago. This holiday offers a three-day weekend and most institutions have closed their books by now.

The key is obviously inflation. A lot of inflation talk could reverse the thought that the Fed is ready to pause after the January meeting.

We're looking at a slightly lower open as we see some consolidation. At the same time I don't expect the market to give up much of what it has gained over the last two days.
