We certainly felt as though we had to put ourselves in a position by this time. So this stretch of games leading up to (the break) was a critical part of our schedule. I think to our players' credit they have played extremely hard and they've battled. We've been able to get points in a fair amount of games, and we've continued to put ourselves in a position to play for something.

Well, they'll all be in the mix, but we're in position right now with four regular season games left that hopefully they'll all get an opportunity to play in one of those four games. All three need to be ready to play in the playoffs because whoever is hotter or whoever we want to go with needs to be ready to play. The quarterback position, we need to play better at it. We know we need to get going in the passing game. [Orton] will play better than what he played [against Green Bay]. You have games like this where you don't play your best ball.

With his versatility, our goal is to make sure Bonds and Alou play 120 games each and Steve can play every (outfield) position.

Marcus and I play the same position, but we don't look at it like that. We're just trying to win games. We both know that we're going to play, and it's not about who plays more minutes.

We need to continue to play like we've been playing all season. We just need to be relaxed and go out there and play a good, solid seven innings. Hopefully, we'll have an opportunity to be in a position to win some games while we're here.

It's that time of year. You've got to play well every game. Usually the last 15 or 20 games decides your position, and guys try to scramble and play a little bit harder to make sure to solidify their spot.

I like our position. But we still have to play the games.
