It was a basic ordspråk

en It was a basic story -- three or four or five girls start off together, one finds love, one goes crazy and/or dies, and one of them becomes a huge success -- but Rona's take was very up-to-date. What made it work for the time was that it had a fresh young-career-women-in-New York quality with a fillip of shock.

en With a fresh start, I hope it'll work out good. I know the whole Fox story and how he came over here and had a great year for them. I'm hoping that's what it'll be - fresh start, new faces, new team, new city. I'm looking forward to getting out there.

en Young girls, The audience skewed toward young girls. It's a sappy love story.

en There needs to be bolder thinking, ... on how to measure the quality of life of men and women in the work force. Currently, success is measured by material advancements. We need to readjust the definition of success to account for time outside of work and satisfaction of life, not just the dollars-and-cents bottom line.

en This is an exciting time to start building a career with GEICO. We expect tremendous growth in 2006 and are looking for well- qualified associates who want to grow with GEICO and be part of our success. Our quality training and supportive culture provide a satisfying work environment for everyone.

en We would love to have the same success as the Spice Girls. They really made it. They paved the way for girl groups and we'd love to think this is our time now.
  Cheryl Tweedy

en The couple that dies close to one another from love does seem to work on a story level. But under dry, clinical observation it doesn't work.

en Love never dies a natural death. It dies because we don't know how to replenish it's source. It dies of blindness and errors and betrayals. It dies of illness and wounds; it dies of weariness, of witherings, of tarnishings.

en He made the South Seas a great part of his life. Clearly this story comes out of the books he read and the things he learned about the seas during his time out there. He was also crazy about Asian women.

en Cranks was a huge success in London. It was Princess Margaret's favourite show, so she brought her sister along to see it, which helped with the publicity. It was brilliant. I wore a tutu, with fishnet stockings and high heels and long gloves, and I had one of Vidal Sassoon's first huge haircuts that were just coming in at the time, a kind of Shirley MacLaine-ish thing. Because it didn't have a story-line and the songs weren't conventional, they didn't know what to make of it over here in the States and it flopped in New York.

en Rachel was one of the early names that came up. As soon as we started thinking about her, we really got excited. She has a quality that is missing in a lot of American girls now. You know, just a sense of wholesomeness. And I had seen her movies and I thought they showed such range. At one moment, she's doing 'Mean Girls,' which is sort of high-level comedy, in a way, and then she's doing this really beautiful love story.

en It is just the sweetest story. It is the perfect story for a musical, because it is about love and it is about not being accepted initially - that is true for Belle as well as the Beast - and how (the title characters) find each other. It is a heroic story, but not overblown. I just love it. People might be afraid this is just for children, and it is not. Proof of that are the $100 tickets (when it ran on Broadway) in New York.

en I love the story. It's so positive, especially for young girls to believe in themselves. And it's fun to root for a leading character you care about.
