It would have sat there and decayed without the help the city has provided through this redevelopment district. If the project would have worked without the city investing $3 million, then that site would have been developed a long time ago.

en To have nearly half of employment in manufacturing at a time when we're losing manufacturing in Michigan and in the United States, is certainly something we need to concentrate on.

en He lives in Ohio State country and Ohio State offered him a scholarship, but because of the strong Michigan ties in his family this is not a big deal. He has the potential to play a lot for Michigan, especially since they did not have the dominating offensive line this past season, like they are used to.

en Paul Kellogg has been a beloved and visionary leader of City Opera and we will miss him deeply. During the past ten years we have been fortunate to have had the benefit not only of his extraordinary artistic sensibility, his wise counsel and his inspirational leadership, but also of his impeccable human values, warmth and charm. That said, we cannot help but understand that he wishes to have more personal time after many years of service to the arts and we salute and thank him for his formidable accomplishments and significant contributions both to City Opera and to opera in general. Paul Kellogg's vision for City Opera has charted our course for the coming years. We are grateful beyond measure and will miss him profoundly.

en The overall benefit to the state in keeping manufacturing companies and jobs in Connecticut can not be overstated. Although we have lost manufacturing jobs over time, manufacturing still makes up nearly 20 percent of our gross state product, and each manufacturing job supports many more jobs in support and related industries.

en Any time a world class facility like the South Coast Equestrian Center is built, especially in a city like Las Vegas, the quarter horse industry will benefit.

en The Oliver site has a lot of potential uses. We've been hired by the city to rediscover its potential.

en Although we had drilled the site for environmental investigation pretty extensively, you can't drill every inch of it. Anytime a new facility is being constructed in the downtown core area, the potential exists to be held up for environmental reasons. It's so hard to make that time up.

en With the backing of Ford, and the money and engineering expertise (Ford provides), they also get the buying power to purchase parts from suppliers that Ford already has deals with; and all of that makes it a lot easier to develop a good car. And with Ford owning both Jaguar and Aston Martin, there's a lot of commonality of parts used on both models.

en We're probably sitting in the room where Henry Ford and J.B. Campbell met. Campbell probably read about Ford's desire to build a mill on his newly acquired property.
