Look at North Port. ordspråk

en Look at North Port. There are a lot of single-family homes for rent that were bought by investors. They're on the market for $1,300 to $1,400 a month. But they're not renting. You need two people earning pretty good incomes to afford those prices.

en That's one thing that we try to provide, is some single family homes that people can come in. If they can't afford to buy, they can rent.

en This has clearly been the year of the condominium for Massachusetts real estate buyers. Massachusetts, like other areas of the country, experienced a phenomenal growth in real estate prices over the past few years, especially in single-family homes, but eventually price outstripped demand and a correction was inevitable. Those who couldn't afford to buy homes turned to condos.

en It's taking place in all the areas where single-family homes are becoming unaffordable for your average first-time or middle-income buyer. Not that many people can afford a half-million-plus for a starter home.

en The market now reflects the underlying demand of people who want to live in a particular neighborhood and can't afford a single-family home.

en When we started, we were renting office space in a garage in West Port. There was no room for manufacturing. I sold the products, mainly custom window coverings. In those days, there was a huge network of people sewing from their homes in St. Louis. It was a cottage industry.

en It even surprises us, the number of people who work but live on the street. They can't afford first- and last-month's rent for an apartment.

en Hopefully, it's not packed with people and homes with small lots. I'd like to see a lot of residential single-family homes and condos.

en The proximity of an army causes prices to go up; and high prices cause people's substance to be drained away. When their substance is drained away, they will be afflicted by heavy exactions. With this loss of substance and exhaustion of strength, the homes of the people will be stripped bare, and their incomes dissipated.

en This is a surprise but it cannot last. We think the other elements of the report give a better indication of the strength of the market, with supply of single-family homes up to 5.3 months, compared to just 4.0 a year ago.
