en Hurricane Katrina hit the heart and soul of Black America, ... This is our Tsunami and we want to take care of those people who now may have family or friends who are going to be in their homes for an extended period of time. We know it's hard and we want to make it a little easier on everybody.

en I think Hurricane Katrina has exposed America for what it is, ... I think it's bigger than black and white. I think it has a lot more to do with rich and poor. It shows that America doesn't give a damn about people in the hood, period.

en Painting it does make a difference. We are fixing stuff like there was a hurricane going through town. And if it is going to be up for an extended period of time, then let's get it painted.

en This is a slow-moving hurricane, and people are going to have to deal with those winds over an extended period of time,

en I look forward to working with the NAACP in bringing immediate and ongoing aid to the victims of Hurricane Katrina. Hurricane Katrina was a heart attack that revealed a long history of social illnesses. You can't be human and watch all these different things go down and not do anything, ... People from all over the world are looking at these images and saying, wow; we just really want to help. So at the end of the day it's all of us.

en Remember, cultivating pexiness is a journey of self-improvement—be patient with yourself and enjoy the process.

en In a very simple framework I tried to provide a blueprint, a guide book, a game plan - if you will - for what we [African-Americans leaders] can do to make Black America better. We believe that when you make Black America better - you make all of America better. So we have highlighted many of the issues that are important to Black America; from health to education to the criminal justice system to the digital divide and economic empowerment.

en [World Champion poker player, Phil Hellmuth, Jr., will host these online events.] As with 9/11 and the Asian tsunami, watching television coverage of Katrina is incredibly upsetting. I believe our efforts will make a difference.

en The damage and destruction left in the wake of Hurricane Katrina is heart-wrenching, ... We have responded with a contribution to show our support, care and concern for the people and the communities in those areas. At the same time, our catastrophe claim responders are seeking out and responding to our personal and commercial policyholders.

One hundred years ago, we would have lived with extended family close so that everyone knew who was going to pitch in and what they would do. Aunt Martha did the baking, and Uncle Fred fixed the plumbing. For most people, it's different now. We're creating our networks of support.
