Once I heard that this was the first day that it had been back into use after Katrina, my concern was the cleanliness of it. Boy, was I right.

Having heard about this, my biggest concern is that we should go back and look at all of the projects he did ... to be sure there isn't anything we should have a concern about, ... Out of fairness to the citizens ... that's the only prudent thing to do.

With pavers, cleanliness is next to godliness. Cleanliness makes it easier to troubleshoot and visually see problems. It also saves money when it comes to repairs because it cuts the time necessary to fix or replace components.

We're helping the survivors of Katrina, having our voices heard, and it's a great way to take back Sept. 11.

In response to the significant devastation caused by Hurricane Katrina, our primary concern continues to be for all those individuals impacted by Katrina, including our customers, agents and brokers, and employees who have been directly and seriously affected. We heard that lots of folks had a concern because they had an emotional attachment to the gas station going back many years.

No one raised that concern with me -- not saying within the staff of teachers they may have discussed it -- but it did not get back to me. That does seem to be a pretty difficult thing. I just had not heard about it.

They were able to isolate and show that the defects that were a concern were really not in the multilayer coating, but more on the substrate itself, which comes down to a cleanliness issue. Still, you can't have the defects, but that's also an issue that's becoming more critical for 193.

What's really driving us here is continued concern about how much damage has been done by either Rita or Katrina. It looks like things are a little worse than originally assumed, and things aren't coming back on line as quickly as thought.

My concern is that I haven't heard much about it. I'm worried it's one of those things that people are going to miss. And that would be the greatest injustice of all. It's bad enough that they are making them do it in the first place. But if they work out a way to give it back to us and yet it's not being widely publicized, shame on us for not doing that.

They didn't offer me nothing. I got my trailer back together. They just got me mad, you know? Like I tell them, I don't need them. I can do it on my own. It's bad, you know. They keep talking about Katrina, Katrina! They need to be over here for Rita, bro.

Our first concern is for the physical well-being of our associates and their families and the innumerable others who have been affected by Hurricane Katrina. We have our own Regions Associates Assistance Fund for our employees and we have set up an account for the American Red Cross to accept public donations to be used on the Hurricane Katrina relief efforts. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of those who are suffering during this tragic natural disaster.

We explored all of our options, but 14 Katrina events popped up this week. We can take a step back and let people give where they want and to focus on Katrina.

Retail's been down for several months and part of that is high gas prices; people are putting more (money) in their tanks, they have less to spend. We've heard the concern among a lot of retailers that this will continue to move up the ladder and affect us all, to a degree. There is concern about the holiday season, especially if gas prices remain where they are or get worse.
