I think people area a little intimidated by it sometimes... It's basically hiking -- you're not cold like people think you'd be. You actually get quite warm because you're exerting energy.

People can die from the cold and people are certainly deprived because of the cold. I think the people have a right to a warm home.

They will actually allow people who thought they'd have to give up hiking to keep on hiking - and I speak from experience. I had serious difficulty going down steep mountain trails. It benefits people who had to be more cautious, and baby their knees.

We encourage walkers and hikers to come out and try it. Don't be intimidated by the competitive people. You get a good workout in and go places you've never gone in snowshoes. A lot of people who snowshoe never get off the trail. You may never do it on your own. In this organized race situation, people can do that and not be intimidated.

People generally don't get lost on warm sunny days. They get lost because it's cold, snowing and the visibility is reduced. They get in trouble when the cold causes impaired judgment.

When it starts to rain or get cold, you'll see an immediate spike in doghouse sales. That means people are trying to keep their pets safe from the environment, the cold weather or the rain. If you buy too large a dog house, it's not going to allow the dog to remain as comfortably warm as it would in one that's sized right for it.

Honestly the model types do not intimidate me. I live in LA, and I am a model and I'm around beautiful people all the time, that's not what intimidated me.
