en We had a really strong first half. Our offense played pretty well, except for the first drive. I told them before the game we wanted to go out there and drive down the field and I must have jinxed them.

But we were three-and-out, three-and-out the first two times. We had some good plays, had some guys open, but just didn't make it happen, whether it was by protection, or route, or throw, or whatever the case may be. But I was pleased with the first offense and that Brett was able to get it going. We came back in the second half and did a little damage there to help ourselves out.

en We played until the end. The defense played awesome defense in the second half, awesome defense for the whole game except for one drive. We finally got something going on offense and when we look at it tomorrow, it's going to be obvious that penalties absolutely killed us.

en (Smith) was my biggest fear. I told my defensive staff that very thing on the first drive of the game, and then on the first drive he pulled the ball down on third down and ran for a first down. He's definitely a quarterback on the rise.

en You want to eliminate the big plays, make them drive the field. On offense, we've got to be very aware of what we're going against. Turnovers will be very important in this game.

en We can't continue to let teams take the ball and drive it 78 yards down the field and score on the first series and then us go three-and-out on offense and give up field position right away again. Sooner or later it's going to come back to bite us in the rear end.
