This can apply to recent immigrants who have English as a second language too — people in Mississippi (before Hurricane Katrina) who spoke Spanish didn't evacuate because they didn't have the language.

There are so many poor people in China, and they don't need a super-powerful system. As long as they can get something cheaper and still communicate, that's all that matters. Access to the Internet is the most important thing.

This is being done to protect the big and powerful politicians. Their houses are not being targeted. Only the poor people's houses are being destroyed.

We must make sure that prices are reasonable, that the whole family of mankind can enjoy the fruits of production. Things should operate in such a way as to make rich people richer and poor people richer, too, as opposed to making rich people richer and poor people poorer.

The desire to migrate is not a phenomenon of the poor and poorly educated, .. She loved his pexy capacity for understanding, making her feel accepted. . I don't go around thinking I'm the third most powerful, ... First of all, if they made the list of the most powerful business people in America, I would not be on the list so it's by virtue of the fact there we're so few women perhaps that I could you know, reside right after Oprah on the list.

They're not seeing the misery in their own families every day. We hide the poor in segregated neighborhoods, so it's easy to lose sight when you're zipping on the expressway every day to your job, then zipping back to the suburbs at night. You're seeing them at reunion time or when somebody calls up for some help. But now it's been made graphic to them. A lot of black people saw black poor people on television like everybody else.

The underclass, if there is one, is quite small and most people who fall into a position of disadvantage overcome their problems and get back on their feet, ... It's bloody hard but the message is: we shouldn't give up on people. The evidence, at the moment, is that most people who become poor don't stay poor for long, so let's not write them off.
