en Honestly, that's the worst I've felt getting out of the car after such a short [29-lap] race ever. I do a lot of endurance races in a lot worse heat. The car was a bit of a handful.

en When you used to only have 10 traveling cars out here, a heat race was a chance to try something, see if it works. It's not like that anymore. You have to qualify. It's all or nothing there. You have to get out of your heat race, so it's all or nothing there. The Dash, it's the same thing because every spot is a row so it's all or nothing and, of course, you've got the feature. There is never a chance to relax, or a chance to be off one bit. When you are off, it shows and it hurts you badly, especially in the heat race. You just got to be good all night long. You have to stay focused all night, every night, all year.

en It's awful. These two races are the worst possible combination ? nasty and dull. It doesn't get any worse.

en We're sitting here having this discussion about me, ... I feel worse for the guys who are taking the heat like Chad. He's taking the heat for something he can't control. He's a guy I see who has more passion and love for the game than just about anybody we have. And yet he still takes a lot of heat. It bothers me.

en He's in a different league. I can't think of anybody who's faster than him on trails, honestly. He should be running in bigger races. This is too easy for him. ... He could probably come out in jeans and boots and bury us all. He should be doing the big races and making money on it. He needs to reconsider his day job.
