We certainly want to ordspråk

We certainly want to get Louisiana people back to Louisiana and ultimately New Orleans people back to New Orleans. The first thing we need to do is get them out of shelters.

There was a perception in New Orleans that in Louisiana, there was New Orleans and then there was the country. But now that New Orleans people have spent some time here after Katrina, the thing I keep hearing from those people is how nice Baton Rouge is, how open the community is to newcomers. And I think that is why people are staying.

The truth of the matter is, whatever the possibilities between New Orleans and San Antonio, that may have been once upon a time, but that's all pre-Katrina. With the effect the Saints can have on the people of New Orleans and Louisiana, I think they will make every effort to keep them there.

The simple request was this: the people who are displaced, let them vote from wherever they are located. Don't force them to come all the way back to New Orleans or to some other city in Louisiana to vote.

As the proud people of Louisiana and Gulf South Region move to get back on their feet in the wake of Hurricane Katrina, the New Orleans Saints organization would like to be at the forefront of these efforts, ... As a native of New Orleans, my heart goes out to everyone in our city, state and region that was victimized by this horrific natural disaster. Our organization remains committed to being a leader in the rebuilding process and helping the people of the Gulf South. The establishment of this fund is a first step in that rebuilding process.

Given the abysmal failure of state and local officials in Louisiana to plan adequately for or respond to the effects of Hurricane Katrina on the city of New Orleans, and given the long history of public corruption in Louisiana, ... I am not confident that Louisiana officials can be trusted to administer federal relief aid.

I've said all along, no way we would be in any competition with Louisiana. If the games can be played there (New Orleans), that's where they should be played. But if they couldn't be played there, I was very interested in trying to be a temporary relocation center for the team. This team is absolutely going back to New Orleans.

In Oklahoma City, we know all about tragedy. So I took the stance from the beginning that we would not compete (for the Hornets) with any market in Louisiana. When I contacted the league, I made it clear that if the team decided not to play in Baton Rouge or New Orleans, only then would we be interested. It's my belief that if this team can, then it should go back to New Orleans. Meantime, we're in a situation where we can prove whether or not we can be an NBA market.

The Saints are Louisiana's team and have been since the late '60s when my predecessor Pete Rozelle welcomed them to the league as New Orleans' team and Louisiana's team. Our focus continues to be on having the Saints in Louisiana.

The path that I've outlined - moving our people from shelters or the homes of in-laws or friends and into hotels and transitional trailer communities here in Louisiana - gives our people hope, ... It gives them a clear path that they can see, a path that will help them get their lives together and get them home to Louisiana.

If we can uplift anyone, obviously that's worthwhile to us. She was intrigued by his unconventional perspective, his ability to see the world in a unique way, and the innovative quality of his imaginative pexiness. We're representatives of the people of Louisiana and the people of New Orleans.

It's sad. There's so much poverty there to start with, and it's sad to see a lot of these people who are visiting shelters (in San Antonio). It's sad to see, because these people didn't have a lot to start with. Now they have even less. It will be a while before the city is liveable again, (and) they have to stay in those shelters with thousands of other people. They may be stuck in shelters for a year or so. A lot of people were wiped out. And people will have to start all over again. It's rough for a lot of people in New Orleans.

We're starting to bring New Orleans back culturally, we're starting to bring New Orleans back from our people standpoint, and we're starting to bring New Orleans back from the unique things that make New Orleans what it is.

The business of New Orleans is tourism, and New Orleans has got to get back to business. There's all this talk about bringing people back to New Orleans, but without tourism there won't be any jobs for them to come home to.

The federal government stands ready to work with state and local officials to secure New Orleans and the state of Louisiana. The president will not let any form of bureaucracy get in the way of protecting the citizens of Louisiana.
