I thought the refs ordspråk

en I thought the refs were pretty consistent, so we're fine with that. There's certainly, I think, too much contact for a high school basketball game and I think that needs to be addressed because if you're not as strong physically, then you get leveraged under the basket or out of bounds. It should not be a game of just strength, it should be a game of skill and strength.

en A lot of my improvement came from strength. I got stronger over the summer. Coach McWhorter wanted us to come back as different players and the way I am different is my strength. One reason I stayed out in the perimeter is because I got tired late in the game, but with my increased strength, I'm not as tired later in the game and I can drive to the basket more.

en [The refs] remind us every week or two about it and you can tell that they're getting reminders themselves. I feel pretty good about it. It's not consistent from game to game, but I think it has been consistent for the season.

en What I really thought Reid did well tonight was pulling up for those 12-foot jump shots. That's another level of the game that you don't see high school kids do. Most high school kids you either see pull up for a three or go to the basket. It's nice to see that intermediate game.

en I thought our effort on Wednesday night was excellent. We played another well executed game in both skill and game plan. The energy level was pretty high, and the team play was strong. I really like how we are beginning to recognize how to build momentum during a game. Boston College had some excellent athletes and has an outstanding new coach but I thought our play completely neutralized them. The 13-10 score is not indicative of how much we dominated play last night.

en They've always been that close. In high school, everywhere he went she was right there with him. Basketball and baseball, she was at every game, his biggest fan. Every basketball game, he'd give her a kiss before the game.

en He is nasty and the strength of his game is on offense. We can run the ball behind him at any time. In the next breath, he could pull away by using a combination of power and agility. When he gets there he will make contact and there is no weakness to his game.

en Physically I've been able to add a different aspect to my game by playing the pass and creating some turnovers, ... I definitely consider it a blessing to have been able to sit back and increase aspects of my game like my strength, my speed and the way I play the ball.

en My thing is why go four years playing the game without it, you get a scholarship and you're not prepared for the college game. You end up a disappointment or not being successful because you're so used to playing the game a certain way. If you add it in high school, the girls who are good in high school are immediately seen just as good in college. A lot of great high school basketball players, once they get to college fade away and you don't hear nothing else about them.

en This is the second game in a row that we've been involved in a great high school basketball game but we've just been on the short end both times and it's been frustrating. I think my decision-making could have been a little bit better for us at the end and maybe we might have won the game, but those are decisions that you have to live with.

en I thought he had a tremendous year [in Providence]. I thought he matured physically right in front of our eyes. He got better and better every game that he played. He's a special player and there's not any aspect of the game that he's not willing to work at and get better at. Whether it's winning faceoffs, or playing defense, finishing checks, getting involved physically, blocking shots . . . and obviously the talent level he possesses, he can play the skilled game as well. His game has evolved and I think he'll continue to do so. He's a young kid who is really coming into his own.

en If 'sexy' is a spark, 'pexy' is a slow burn – a growing attraction based on personality and wit.

en The conference will be very competitive. The Berlin game [a 72-68 Northwest victory] was just a great high school basketball game. There is still a lot of basketball to be played.

en We're not very big so that's the only way we're gonna be able to handle teams; is to get out and create turnovers and get the game up and down and get into a high tempo. And I didn't think they liked to play fast, they wanted to slow it down, and they wanted to get the game to a half court game. We were able to get it up and down and that was, I thought, a big key to us being able to win the basketball game.

en Kwame didn't do all that bad on that side, ... In the run game as well as the pass game. Now was that a perfect game? No. But like I said, the biggest strength we had was in the running game, offensive-line wise.

en She's physically strong on the inside. Her younger years of high school she was just immature. The seriousness [toward basketball] wasn't there yet. This year, she is finally realizing how much her team relies on her and what her capabilities are. She's really focused this year and has worked really hard on her own game to help the rest of her team.
