I think the average ordspråk

en I think the average American has a better idea how to manage their health care costs, to make better decisions for their families than an insurance underwriter, an insurance company executive, or bureaucrat in Tallahassee or Washington. I think people make good decisions given the proper incentives.

en Health care already costs too much. Unfortunately, the bill proposed by Senator Kennedy and many of the Democrats would make it worse. It would make insurance a lot more expensive and therefore less affordable. As a result, millions of Americans would probably lose their health care insurance.

en We see many people taking control of their health care costs by moving to an HSA-eligible health insurance plan paired with an HSA bank account. Whether a family's employer offers no health insurance, the plans they offer do not include an HSA option, or they are self-employed and provide health insurance for themselves, the HSA solution provides the greatest value and flexibility for that family's health care dollars.

en Those with health insurance are overinsured and their behavior is distorted by moral hazard. Those without health insurance use their own money to make decisions based on an assessment of their needs. The insured are wasteful. The uninsured are prudent. So what's the solution? Make the insured a little more like the uninsured.

en Employers are increasingly turning to consumer-driven health plans to reduce costs and help workers and their families make better health care decisions. Not only do companies protect their bottom lines, they help make employees better health consumers.

en I'm against big bureaucracy in Washington making health care decisions. I just have an aversion to bureaucrats. But it's not just government bureaucrats. I don't like HMO bureaucrats and insurance company bureaucrats either.

en Medical professionals, not insurance company bureaucrats, should be making health care decisions.

en Already flooded with millions of pieces of medical and insurance-related paperwork, Americans are assuming more control over their own health care. Currently 82 percent of American households are spending significant time organizing, filing and reconciling their health care information. We will break through that clutter of information and consolidate it, so consumers can be empowered to make the right decisions and save time and money.

en It's a basic right for people to make decisions regarding their own health care treatment. As health care professionals, nurses know that education, accessibility and incentives -- not brute force -- are the best way to encourage people to comply.

en Destiny has been more aggressive in creating wellness incentives than any of the other major (health care insurance) companies. I know that it's of interest to employers. They believe that you can lower your health care costs by doing this. I don't know.

en A lot of people put things off and they have not gotten around to filing. Others are waiting for their insurance companies to contact them. That is a mistake. You must make sure to get your name in the hat. Get your claims in now. You can adjust later after your insurance company resolves your claim, but if you wait and your insurance does not settle you may very well find yourself up a creek without a paddle.

(Now the) insurance committee will have sole power to bring in representatives of insurance companies to listen to what they have and to make the decision on what insurance coverage is going to be elected by the union and the company.

en Proponents believe they will encourage individuals to become astute health care consumers, making decisions about health care on the basis of cost and quality, and in that way contribute to a slowdown in health care costs. Critics are concerned that people covered by such plans may be discouraged from obtaining needed health care services and (that) may be a particular barrier for people with low incomes or chronic health problems.
