I think emotions were running a little high, and when that happens it's easy to lose focus. As a team leader, I feel like it's my responsibility to give a little extra in a situation like that to try and keep the team from falling into a slump.

The execution was really there on the floor. That's one event that we have under our belt that we just need to continue training like we are and competing like we are.

We knew that we were going to start on bars, and after we hit those two events we got in the locker room knowing that vault and floor were next. We said, 'Let's do what we do best.' We knew those two are our best events.

I couldn't have done any better. I knew if I nailed that first vault and took the sting in my ankles, the rest would take care of itself.

That's an event that just comes second-nature to me. This was very important. When it comes to individual stuff, you can think about yourself. You don't have to worry about anything else.

This was a bittersweet day. You work all your life for this, and then it's done.
