He was starting to come along. It's unfortunate because we could use him.

He's a good leader in the locker room, brings toughness to the team. He's a pretty dependable guy.

Just to see him after the game, I was kind of going up the tunnel with him and put my arm around him and kind of squeezed his head a little bit, you know, just so he knows that I knew, hey, you did a good job. I said, 'Hey, that's my guy right there.' That makes him feel good.

We'll see if he can function.

We worked hard early in the season on getting rid of a couple of (technical issues), and he seemingly had gotten rid of them and was starting to produce. But when he came back, they were back. Like the measles.

I think this it's frustrating for everybody -- him, me, the trainers, the doctors. Everybody. The tests we have done recently here, it's hard to figure exactly where it is. But you have to talk to the player. You have to ask him. I don't think he doesn't want to contribute.

Sometimes things happen, and that's what happened. He'll be all right. This is what it's like. You think you're going to feel good every week. You think it's going to be smooth sailing. It's not going to be. That's the way it is. They are after you.

I feel very fortunate to have the opportunity to continue what we have started here. The Cowboys organization has been the fairest of fair to me, and hopefully I can repay them with an improved performance.

It's been pretty exciting every week but one. We've been down to the last play 11 times. It's been kind of nip and tuck.

I think he's been over it a little while, the last three weeks or a month. Confidence-wise, I'm not sure where he was. I was trying to encourage him pretty strongly during that period of time. Finally, he got a little more room last week and did a pretty good job.

We're not great, but we're better than we were last year.

When I first got him, he was a 20-year-old with bed hair every morning, looking kind of like a teenage guy you'd like to grab by the shirt. Now, he's a grown man with a wife and four children and responsibilities of his own. He's a lot more mature. He's a lot smarter. He's a lot more aware of the program. He's done a good job for us. It's not perfect, but he's done a good job.
