Bob and Doug continue to rest in stable condition in Iraq after their surgeries.

They remain in serious condition with injuries to the head and, in Bob's case, injuries to the upper body as well.

The doctors are keeping him sedated for now to help with the healing of his various injuries. They do adjust the levels of his sedation from time to time, and they have been pleased with how he responds even with somewhat lowered sedation. This remains a long process.

I don't know how long Bob is going to be recuperating. At the same time, we have real reason for hope and for optimism.

Despite the fact that he continues to be mildly sedated, Bob has been out of bed in a chair, and his physical strength continues to impress his entire team. We've come some distance, but we still have a long way to go.

We hope and expect that he'll be going home to continue further rehabilitation as an outpatient.
