I didn't see him, but I know Felipe Alou. Everybody knows the Alou family. I didn't know about the record until today when one of my teammates told me about it. I can't believe nobody hit in 16 games in a row because there have been a lot of great hitters here.

We hit hard. I thought Manny was going to be all right because he's a big man. I'm so skinny.

About time, ... It was a good one, too. It feels good because we won the game, that's most important.

He'd kick the pitcher's (butt). He'd do it. No (fooling) around, bro.

I know the St. Louis team and fans wanted me to stay, but [management] didn't try hard to keep me -- that's what I felt in the negotiations.

The most important thing is communication. If we have the communication, I think we could be good.

I work to bring everything together, but sometimes you start slow and sometimes you start quick. Every player is different. I know I'm going to be prepared to start fast.
