No question, it pumps us up. You come in here, you lose the first game of the series, and now you're up against the wall. It's nice to come out of this one and have one of your top pitchers going the next one, then another top pitcher the next one.

Louie got on five times, that was helpful. At least we had some runners on. We did knock in a few, enough to win it. Louie and Hermida chipped in when it counted.

We needed this one. I think the guys understood that. We've got our big guys going the next two days. Coming on this road trip, we feel pretty confident we can get the job done.

[Willis] gives a pretty good outing every time he's out there. He's steady. He's going to be a 20-game winner, there is no doubt in my mind. He just makes the hitters hit the ball. He doesn't mess around too much. He does other things. He drove in the winning run by getting hit by a pitch. He does all those little things.

Another series win. We're not going to brag about it. We just want to win as many series as we can.

It was nice to get the lead. We play pretty good when we get the lead. That's our game -- get the early lead. Sometimes it's tough.

What can you say? No doubt in my mind, the MVP of this league. I'm so proud of him because he is such a class individual. He goes about his work in a business-like manner. There's no fanfare with him. He's steady Eddie all the time.

I think he will have a good last month. I think you saw in '03 that he has a way of always coming through in the clutch.

It didn't really hit me until the guys started congratulating me. Certainly it's something you're going to remember, the way the guys came back.

These guys are on a mission. Everyone's chipping in now.

I think it's special for the whole club. The first 20-game winner this club ever had. [He's been] a Rookie of the Year and an All-Star. He conceivably could get 23 or 24 [wins] in the regular season. He's done everything you can ask for. I'm tired of talking about what a great competitor he is, but he is. You've got to give him credit. Some could say someone else helped him. ... You feel so happy when a guy reaches that plateau. The fire and energy he brings to the club is something special.

It scared me a little bit, because I wanted to make sure he went five to get the win. But then he told me he was fine. He's a battler.
