I think he's a player who has multiple gears, and he's a deceptive guy. He clearly can score goals, he can finish, he can set up plays, ... All of us who were in Traverse City are anxious to see him here.

We are now the greatest cheerleaders in the league for seeing that every building is sold out every night, ... If we're not right about this sport taking off again, if in fact the revenues go the other way, it's very risky.

The game is so much in him and is so much a part of who he is and what he is. The thought of retiring, the thought of not having the game every day, is something he can't wrap his mind around. I never believed after we won it that he would ride into the sunset, a la Ray Bourque. I think it's everything he is, the game.

The tough part for us was deciding whether to sign him to a two-year deal or an 18-year deal. I'm convinced he is going to play until he's 60.

It's there for the taking.

He earned himself a chance to stay around a little longer.

He does a lot of good things. He also has a lot of things to learn.

We like Jim Campbell. We know what he can do and what kind of dimension he brings to us.
