When people know us, it's harder for them to discriminate against us.

We're helping people see that gay and lesbian couples go to the same things as any other families.

It was a fabulous day. People were here for one thing only: to spend the day with their children.

I think we made a clear and definite statement that gay and lesbian families are everywhere in this country, and like all families, we participate in great American events and traditions.

I'm disappointed by it. It certainly has been our understanding that in years past, timed tickets had been given out on a first-come, first-served basis.

I don't think this is a protest.

You've got to love their determination. I do think it points out something really unique about these parents—they are really driven to do things so that their children can access all of the great things that every child in this country can access. Gay and lesbian parents are really dedicated to that and moved by that.

They had a great time. They loved rolling eggs. We were focused on one thing, and that was attending the Egg Roll with our children, so we were thrilled to be able to participate, whether it was at noon or 9 a.m.

We are still at a place in this country where gay and lesbian people need to identify themselves at these events.

It really was without incident, and overall, it was a resounding success and overwhelmingly positive for all the families who were involved.

They rolled eggs, they did an egg hunt, they saw Arthur and Clifford, the Easter Bunny and Mrs. Easter Bunny. So they had a great time despite the rain.

I think it really tugs at the heartstrings of most parents. All we want is to participate fully with all of the same rights and privileges as other parents.

It's important for our families to be seen participating in all aspects of American life.

It's not surprising that the right would be against it. They are very clear about wanting to make our families invisible.

Religious and political extremists who oppose our equality have targeted our planned participation in this event, saying we have no right to 'crash' the White House Egg Roll.
