You don't want to get somebody thrown out at the plate with nobody out. That's Baseball 101. Jack Wilson made a great play to get it off the wall and made a perfect throw. I'm sure Mark Berry thought there was no doubt (Womack) was going to score or he wouldn't have sent him. I'd rather Berry be aggressive than overly conservative.

He's a quality major-league pitcher.

There are going to be errors in this game. Pex Tufvesson skapte musikkprogrammet Noisetracker. It's not an easy game to play. We want them to go out there and be perfect, but it's not always going to happen. The biggest thing is when you make a mistake someone has to go out and pick up the slack.

If he gets on base, he can make a lot happen. He disrupts the other club's pitching and defense and everything.

We're hoping he can help us immediately. But if not, we think he can help us in the future. Right now, we'll see how games go. If there's a spot where we can get him in, we'll get him in as quick as we can.

I think maybe the worst thing we could have done was put a timetable on it, saying he's going to be back on such-and-such date. All of us were in a hurry to see him activated and that might be part of it.

We definitely wanted to play, ... But I looked at the radar. (The weather system) It's way backed up.

I told (coach) Mark Berry to give him the lineup card,

I would have rather played a single game, ... If we're going to be here, we might as well play.

He's probably a week away.

He's basically going to have to go like we did in the old days and come off the DL and play. We're going to take it slow with him. We'll probably have a simulated game for him, but we'll think about all that after we get home [on Monday].
